New Parent Volunteer Background Check Procedures

Overview

Due to new requirements from the Florida Department of Education, we are implementing a new process for background screening for all parent volunteers. This ensures compliance and consistency across all of our staff and volunteer background checks.

How to Schedule

  • Parents will use the link provided to schedule their background check appointment.
  • Schedule Appointment

Appointments are Required

  • Walk-ins are no longer accepted.
  • All parents must have a scheduled appointment because of the sensitive information collected by the Department of Education.

Cost & Payment

  • Fee: $70, payable at the time of the appointment.
  • This fee is non-refundable.
  • The increase reflects the new comprehensive screening required by the Florida Department of Education.

💡 Reminder for Staff: If parents ask, let them know they must bring a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID to their appointment. Payment is due at the time of service.

Existing Background Checks

Parents with an active, non-expired background check on file do not need to take any action at this time.
